BrainGain at the UM  Herbert Wellness Center

The University of Miami Patti and Allen Herbert Wellness Center and the Institute for Mindfulness Studies are excited to introduce BrainGain, a series of three cutting-edge neuro-wellness programs to help balance and enhance your academic performance and well-being.

Drawing on exciting findings in the areas of neuroscience, sports and exercise physiology, and mindfulness practices, these three programs were created to help students cultivate and develop brain health, i.e, BrainGain.

Each of the three programs focuses on activities that can contribute to changes to the structure and function of our brains -- exercise, sleep, and meditation.  Because a core component to these program is neuroplasticity, the ongoing rewiring of our brains in response to experience, the name of each program utilizes the phrase “rewire
.”

The program begins in Fall 2010 and is open to all students, without charge. More detailed information on the program will be made available at the Wellness Center, across campus, and on this site beginning August 16th.
